Our Smile Transformation Process

1

Personalized Consultation

First, we review your goals and concerns, as well as any health conditions we might need to consider. We may capture imaging, frequently from a cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner, to help us determine your candidacy for each tooth replacement solution. Most patients who come to us are candidates for full-mouth dental implants; however, we’ll recommend receiving appropriate preliminary treatments if you have bone loss or gum disease.

Together we'll discuss the best option for you, and if you'd like, you can see before-and-after case studies from actual Commonwealth Prosthodontics patients, including how their treatment outcomes changed their lives. Commonwealth Prosthodontics will also discuss dental implant pricing, insurance coverage and financing options. Once we determine what dental implants are best for you, your implant team will complete precise surgical planning using digital technology or 3D imagery to ensure that each implant placed into your jawbone will be the exact angle, depth and location for optimal, lasting success and a beautiful smile.

2

Precise Dental Implant Placement

On the day of your procedure, we’ll administer your choice of sedation to ensure you’re relaxed and comfortable throughout your procedure. We’ll then make small incisions in your jawbone and place your dental implants. Once your implants are placed in your jawbone, we’ll attach the abutment connector and set your temporary prosthesis on top. This temporary set of teeth lets you immediately enjoy the benefits of your beautiful, healthy new smile!

3

Final Restorations And New Beginnings

Over the next 4-6 months, your implants will fuse with your jawbone through osseointegration to create a robust and durable foundation for your new teeth. Once your mouth has healed, you’ll return to our office for your final, custom-made teeth.

Although there are similarities in all restorations, your prosthodontist at Commonwealth Prosthodontics goal is to make your reconstruction as natural-looking as possible. We can match the look of natural teeth while also offering durable function. We will fit your custom-made teeth onto your newly integrated dental implants, ensuring your bite is aligned correctly. You'll leave our office with a natural, functional, and confident new look that will last for years and possibly the rest of your life!

Your Perfect Smile Is Within Reach

Implants are the only way to restore your lost natural teeth function. Our full mouth implant center in Richmond, Virginia offers you what will be one of the best investments you can make in your smile and quality of life. Full arch dental implants can even help renew the joy of eating your favorite foods by never slipping, shifting or looking unnatural. They’ll give you the stability to bite and chew any food (including steak, raw vegetables and even nuts!), and they’ll improve the health and appearance of your jawbone, so it won’t shrink. In terms of your long-term quality of life, full-mouth dental implants are the ideal choice, even if you have a failing dentition or severe tooth or bone loss. What’s more, dental implants have been shown to improve your overall systemic health!

With an enhancement that can improve your life to this degree, don’t let financial limitations stop you from receiving the high-quality and life-changing care you deserve. While some insurance companies offer limited coverage for dental implants, our team will work hard to help you get all the benefits your plan entitles you to. We’ll even file claims to your dental insurance provider on your behalf! We also partner with trusted third-party financing companies to provide you with monthly payment plans that work for your family.
